Branding Guide for Huron Waterloo Pathways Branding Design

Huron Waterloo Pathways Initiative Rebrand & Visual Identity

Reinventing the visual identity for the Huron Waterloo Pathways Initiative was an exercise in connecting community with the great outdoors. EmSi Design was initially approached for a focused brand refresh, but the project naturally evolved into a comprehensive rebrand—encompassing a new logo, typography system, brand guide, and custom iconography.

Central to this transformation was the selection of an “The Adventure Moodboard,” a creative direction chosen specifically to align with their mission of trail connectivity and environmental stewardship. This aesthetic captures the spirit of exploration while maintaining the clarity needed to ensure the pathways feel welcoming and accessible to everyone.

The final result is a cohesive, professional identity that reflects both the rugged beauty of the trails and the momentum of the initiative itself.

Event Logo Design for HWPI Trail Raiser | EmSi Design Studio

Huron Waterloo Pathways Trail Raiser Signature Lockup Design

The Huron Waterloo Pathways Initiative (HWPI) reached out to me recently with an exciting challenge: elevate their annual fundraiser’s identity to match their newly evolved brand.

The event, “Trail Raiser,” needed a signature event logomark that felt distinct, highly recognizable, and fully integrated with HWPI’s primary visual system.

Rather than treating the event as a standalone one-off, I designed a custom lockup that honors the master brand’s geometry while giving the fundraiser its own energetic, event-ready presence across print invite suites, digital promotions, and day-of signage.

Custom Hand-Drawn Logos & Branding Case Study Brand Sheet

HockeyDad Custom Brand Identity & Logo Design

When Ian Coughlin, founder of the new brand HockeyDad, came to EmSi Design, he had a clear vision but a common roadblock: AI tools just weren’t producing what he needed.

Ian needed more than just a flat graphic; he needed a custom logo, logomark, and a series of vector illustrations that spoke directly to the hockey parent community. He was clear he wanted a handwritten mark so we used his handwriting to inspire the logo and logomark.

It goes to show—while AI is a tool, true brand identity is built on human connection and custom design craft and experience.
